Manchester will welcome the 7th edition of the EuroScience Open Forum to the city on Sunday 24 July 2016. The opening ceremony is the formal opening of the conference and in 2016 will prove to be an event not to miss.
To celebrate the opening, delegates are invited to attend the ESOF opening ceremony, held in Manchester Central's Exchange Hall. This historic heart of the city is the perfect location to officially welcome ESOF delegates to Manchester - European City of Science.
Close by are a selection of Manchester's finest hotels and restaurants so you will always be able to find what you need.
The opening ceremony will offer an uplifting and enjoyable welcome from the host city, speeches from some famous and respected faces as well as entertainment reflecting the culture of Manchester and the spirit of ESOF. The opening ceremony is open to all registered delegates, however space is limited and we anticipate that due to demand the event will be heavily oversubscribed. To secure your place please confirm your attendance when registering for the main conference.
Welcome Drinks & Exhibition Tour
Following the opening ceremony we would like to invite you to join us for the official opening of the ESOF Exhibition, offering an early preview of the next three days of the conference! The exhibition will also feature a welcome reception at the home of ESOF 2016, Manchester Central. Renamed ‘Science Central’ in honour of ESOF, Manchester Central was once one of the city’s grand Victorian railway stations. This historic and impressive space will be where you can find the ESOF exhibition and the world-renowned speakers who will be bringing a global perspective of science to Manchester.
Whilst there, you will be able to preview the exhibition and the latest products, ideas and innovations that our exhibitors have to offer. You will get the chance to wander around this grand building, meet those exhibiting and pose your science questions over local refreshments.
This event will follow on directly from the opening ceremony and will run through until the early evening. Delegates are again requested to RSVP through the registration platform.
