July 27, 2016 10:00 - 11:15 am

Living in the future also concerns our ability to conserve our cultural and archaeological heritage and make them available to current and future generations. Technologies, such as the Internet of Things and robotics, can help us reach the ambitious objectives of preserving our cultural heritage and making it available to everyone. Bringing together archaeologists, ICT technologists, and museum curators, we will illustrate how an archaeological discovery comes about, how technology can help in these discoveries and how technology supports the different phases of a discovery, including excavation, site documentation, future site development as a museum and, finally, in securely transferring these discoveries so they can be enjoyed by a larger public across the world.
