Yvonne Buckley is Professor of Zoology (established 1871) at Trinity College Dublin. She studied her undergraduate degree in Biology at Oxford University and completed a PhD in ecology in 2002 at Imperial College London. She stayed on at Imperial for a post-doc and got her first academic position as a lecturer at the University of Queensland, Australia in 2004. She moved to Trinity College Dublin in 2014 and continues to hold an honorary Professorship at University of Queensland. She has research interests in determining the future of how we live on the planet, natural capital management, population ecology, quantitative ecology and environmental decision making. She leads a global coordinated distributed observational research network for plant population dynamics called PLANTPOPNET.
