Hilary was appointed in the new role of Executive Director for Research Councils UK in March 2015, where her role is to lead the collective activities of the seven research councils. She is the champion for Equality and Diversity for the Research Councils along with Professor Andrew Thompson, interim Chief Executive of the Arts and Humanities Research Council. Hilary has worked in the civil service for 30 years in the UK and New Zealand, in policy, operational and change management roles. Immediately prior to joining RCUK Hilary was Director of Change at the Care Quality Commission.
