Today, Friday, 15 April 2016, marks 100 days to go until the EuroScience Open Forum commences. To mark the occasion – and to encourage engagement at ESOF by the next generation of scientific visionaries – we are making 100 day passes available for free to early career researchers and higher education students studying within STEM disciplines.

Travel grants for African researchers wishing to attend ESOF 2016

EuroScience has been given the opportunity by the Robert Bosch Stiftung to open a Call for Travel Grants to support African researchers (or exceptionally research administrators) with their travel, registration and accommodation costs to attend ESOF 2016 in Manchester (23-27 July 2016).

ESOF Press Conference at AAAS

On Friday 12th February at 3pm, the EuroScience Open Forum 2016 will be holding a press conference in conjunction with the World Conference of Science Journalists (WCSJ) 2017, at AAAS. The press conference will be held in the press briefing room (Virginia) at Marriott Wardman Park.

Winner of a Stay in the Lowry

Last month we asked you to tell us what you loved (and perhaps didn't like so much) about ESOF. We had hundreds of your reply with some really wonderful comments which will definitely help us to bring you a bigger and better ESOF in 2016. 

As a thank you we offered one lucky respondent and a guest of their choice, a two-night stay in the Lowry Hotel in Manchester. 

Nature Travel Grant Scheme for Journalists - Closed

Nature Publishing Group (NPG) has supported ESOF since its very first meeting in 2004. Similar to the 2012 and 2014 meetings, NPG is funding the Nature Travel Grant Scheme for journalists to attend ESOF 2016.

3rd European Conference of Science Journalists 2016

The 3rd European Conference of Science Journalists (ECSJ) will be held as a satellite event at ESOF.   The Conference jointly organized by the Association of British Science Writers (ABSW) and the European Union of Science Journalist Associations (EUSJA), replaces the ABSW’s biennial UK Conference of Science Journalists, extending its reach to journalists throughout Europe.
